Welcome to Take A Paws Dog Training Classes
We offer dog training classes focusing on two main areas: obedience and therapy dog work. Here's a simplified guide to our class offerings:
Puppies (under 10 months):
Little Therapy Prospects Class: Begin with this class
Therapy Dog Prep School or Therapy Dog Prep Day with Test: Choose the prep school if more training is needed, or the prep day if you feel ready for the test with some final tips from our trainers.
Adult Dogs (with obedience skills):
Therapy Dog Prep School: Recommended if your dog has never done therapy work.
Therapy Dog Prep Day: Ideal if you believe your dog will pass the test but want guidance and insider tips before taking it.
All dogs must pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and our Behavioral Analysis/Certification test. If your dog already has the AKC CGC, they only need to complete our Behavioral Analysis/certification test
Little therapy Prospects Class
(training program for puppis under 10 months, includes AKC STAR Puppy Test)
Therapy Dog Prep School Training
(training program for dogs 10 months and older, includes therapy dog certification and AKC cgc evaluation)
(Certification test for those looking to obtain their AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. This is a requirement of all therapy dog teams)
(Therapy dog certification test/behavioral analysis for those looking to join our team or to discover what skills still need to be developed. This is a requirement of all therapy animal teams)
